Student Team Building
- 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.: Irons Oaks Adventure Center - Olympia Fields
By utilizing challenging outdoor adventure activities, Irons Oaks creates a wide range of experiences packed with learning potential.
Students will be divided into groups of 12-14 people and start the day working on the "Team Challenge Course". The groups will tackle seemingly impossible obstacles, increasing personal confidence and self-esteem, mutual trust and support within a group structure, as well being encouraged in more effective group communication and teamwork skills.
The second part of the day will involve a variety of Oaks High Ropes Courses, a Climbing Tower and the Power Pole. The Ropes Courses are a series of 14 elements structured to become more challenging as the team progresses through the activities. The Climbing Tower features over 1,000 square feet of climbing surface and offers a full range of climbs for the beginner to the advanced. The Power Pole consists of a freestanding 25-foot pole, which under the supervision of trained facilitators, participants work with their support team to climb and jump out into the unknown. - 5:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.: Head back to the hotel to freshen up.
- 6:00 p.m.:
After learning how to be a "team" take your students to a "team" sporting event. Stay in the Chicago Southland area and enjoy a Chicago Fire major league soccer game or cheer on our semi-professional baseball team, the Windy City Thunderbolts. For another option: go into city and watch the Chicago White Sox in action or depending on the season, take the group to see the Chicago Bulls. What's better than a ballpark hot dog for dinner? All stadiums have a wide variety of food choices to satisfy every taste. |
